Hrmm… just found the first WEAPON in FF87 Rebirth… Wonder how this is going to turn out…

It’s the one thing that I’ve been SUPER excited to see how they interpret…

In my distant memory, I had imagined they were kind of ‘mecha’-ish… but with a little bit of investigations, looks like they were inspired by the giant monsters of Kaiju films, e.g. Godzilla and… Mothra?

I can’t remmeber which one I managed to defeat in the original. I THINK it was…. Ruby?

I just remember VIVIDLY being absolutely TERRIFIED of Emerald WEAPON.

I’m not so great at underwater scenes in games in general, and even though it’s so pixelated, I remember feeling SO anxious about going underwater and the panic of just… wanting to take a sneak peek at what Emerald WEAPON was like… and even though I had 3 x save states, shaking… and quickly turning the console off after finally seeing what the battle was like.

It’s funny how you remember these moments in games so photographically even though it’s big giant pixels. Like.. Look at this, why would I be afraid?!:
